The Spring Men's Bible Study, "Science and Religion: How far apart are we anyway?", will focus on the relationship of key Biblical themes and modern science, seeking to find some common ground. The leader is Dr. David Siegrist, Specialist in Public Health and emergency response systems for the MITRE Corporation, a not for profit research and development corporation in McLean, VA.

Dr Siegrist, a Presbyterian, has a longtime interest in popular physics topics including the relationship of science and religion. He recently taught a class on "God and the new Physics" at Lewinsville. His presentation will explore the following themes:

  • the Creation stories and the Big Bang
  • Adam and Eve and DNA
  • Original Sin and evolution
  • Grace and Free Will and the theory of emergence
  • God and human life

The presentations and discussion are in St. Andrew's Hall. The cost is $ 5.00 per person. All are welcome.

PLEASE REGISTER BELOW (or call the Church Office to register at 703-356-7200). You may also register when you arrive on Saturday morning.
